Best Home Remedies For Type 1 Herpes Virus

By Ben Paul

Herpes simplex virus type 1 and herpes simplex virus type 2 are viral infections that cause blisters and cold sores on different parts of the body. The cold sores and blisters are most noticeable around the lips, chin, inside the mount, eyes and around the genitals. Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV 2) can infect the cervix, which if left untreated may result to cervical cancer. The brain is also not immune to this type of viral infection; it can enter and inflame the brain to cause a condition known as encephalitis. Herpes is one of few viral infections that have no cure; however, the effect of the disease can be minimized with the use of certain topical creams, or by simply using some at home remedies for herpes.

Cold sores or fever blisters are common type of disease or virus infections called HSV type 1 (Herpes Simplex Virus 1.) HSV type one virus is contagious and are easily contracted through exposure to the affected person or individuals; the lips, chin, nose tongue eyes are the most vulnerable parts of the body that are commonly effected.

Sexual intercourse with an infected partner or with many partners is the most probable catalyst for contracting herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV type 2.) Most common area of the body affected by HSV type 2 are the vagina, male's private parts, cervix and around the buttocks. Type 2 is the most serious and most painful. It can make urination hard and very uncomfortable, even with occasional and unbearable burning sensations.

Herpes is virus infection that is not curable primarily because it makes the neuron its residence once it infects an individual. From the neuron it will eventually weaken the individual's nervous system making any treatment ineffective. This condition is known to be dormant and lifelong only because it hides and comes with outbreaks once in a while and goes back and hides again. Proper hygiene, good nutrition intake and using either herpes natural remedies or Rx medication are the only way to curb the frequency of herpes outbreak recurrence.

Presently there is no known cure for herpes, albeit there is available antiviral topical and oral medicine for relief. While that can be expensive, and while the disease can never be fully treated, there are known home remedies for herpes that one can whip up in the comforts of one's home using ingredients and materials available in most household kitchens.

- Baking soda is known to relieve skin inflammation such as insect bites. Patting baking soda or cornstarch using a cotton ball or a clean cloth on the infected area will help ease the itchiness and the soreness.

- Peppermint or chamomile tea: Drinking tea made from these calming teas can help calm nerves and ease your mind; but more importantly, you can place the used tea bag on the sores or other affected area to reduce inflammations.

- Ice: Ice is always known to reduce swellings or inflammations, and applying ice for about 15 minutes on the affected areas can help.

- Milk: Milk can act as anti-inflammatory remedies and will also reduce sores and inflammations caused by herpes virus outbreaks.

- Aloe Vera, taken either as a plant or the pure gel that can be bought on the market, but not lotions and creams that only contain, perhaps negligible amounts of aloe Vera.

- It is also advisable to wear loose underwear or nothing at all, so not to aggravate the sores with friction. The sores need air to heal, and any cover on them is counterproductive. This is also why ointments and other topical applications, unless directed by the doctor, are not advised.

The best solution to remedy your herpes simplex virus infections should reside with your doctor. It does not matter whether you chose to use herbal herpes remedies, homemade concoctions or pharmaceuticals; you should make sure that your condition is properly diagnosed by a physician. Knowing whether you have type 1 or type 2 HSV is crucial in formulating an effective treatment for your conditions.
