Interesting Info All About Smoking

By Mary Saunders

We know that smoking is bad for our health and it is highly addictive because of its active substance, nicotine. Once you get hooked, it is really difficult to stop. Every time you try to stop, your body goes on withdrawal because it is craving for nicotine. Migraines and the craving for smoking are common withdrawal symptoms. It is a very unpleasant feeling so smokers would rather continue smoking. Below are need-to-know facts about smoking.

A cigarette does not only contain nicotine but around 4000 chemicals as well. These chemicals are known to cause cancer and are very dangerous for your health.

One bad thing about smoking is the build up of tar when continuous smoking is done. What's bad about it is wherever there's tar, nicotine is also there. When tar is inhaled, it goes directly to the bloodstream going to the brain and other parts of the body. In just a matter of 10 seconds, the body becomes full of tar and nicotine. Now, you wouldn't want that happening, right?

Reports confirm that a lot of people are dying due to smoking. Usually, the patients are diagnosed to have cancer but there can be other problems such respiratory and cardiovascular diseases as well. If you smoke regularly, you are shortening your life considerably.

If you don't care that your health is being compromised, then think of your wife and your children. The effects of passive smoking are more hazardous than active smoking. You should consider quitting if you are endangering the health of your love ones. I'm sure you don't want your 5-year-old child to have lung cancer by the time he's 13.

Build up of tar in your mouth could cause a yellowish discoloration of the teeth and believe me, it is very difficult to remove. People will avoid talking to you because you smell like stinky tobaccos. Overall, your charm will decrease and your self-esteem will hit an all time low.

The only thing you gain in smoking are diseases, so, as much as possible, lay off the cigarettes. Don't wait until you get addicted as it will just be additional burden for you and the people around you.
