Cooling Your Gerd At The Buffet Restaurant

By Carolyn Collins

Are you skeptical about the name of this article? Now, don't get doubting, it can be done. You may be surprised to know, it can be done. If you discover a way of eating that puts you in control of your heartburn, you will be able to tame it at the buffet table

The food of a buffet table is sooo good, but the heartburn after is sooo bad you hate to go. If you suffer from Acid Reflux, you also suffer from eating at a buffet table. But, it's a buffet; that's special. Of course, you have to try it all. You're not going to take too much, just a taste of everything. It is still going to be too much food. It will be tasty going down. Coming back up - not so good.

Have you ever gone to a buffet and not felt like you were having a heart attack half an hour later. Go to the buffet, eat all you want, and feel like you are gonna die afterward. And when you go to the doctor and tell him you're dying he's going to tell you, once again, you have heartburn. You can already hear him say you eat too much. This is heartburn from eating too much, plain and simple.

Has the doctor given you a list of foods not to eat?|Maybe the doctor will give you a list of foods to avoid.| You probably doubt if it is possible that a diet for heartburn could be any good. The words Reflux Diet, when your doctor said them, probably made you cringe.

Good news! It is much better than you think. Your heartburn is stomach acid backing up out of the stomach and as it creeps up it burns your esophagus Certain foods make this worse, as does quantity of food. Small portions, and acid calming foods will help you with this. If you are a big eater, just eat smaller amounts more often.

If you are an over eater, it is a good bet you suffer from acid reflux. If not daily, at least more than occasionally. Eat less at a time, but more often if you're hungry. If you need to loose weight, it will help with that as well. Portion control helps to put you in charge of your heartburn.

Can you douse your heartburn with smaller portions at the buffet table? No guarantees, but it will probably help some. You will notice a difference, especially if you also eat slower.

Fried foods are the biggest no-no for you. Any fatty food is bad for you, but fried makes things worse. Chicken wings are usually deep fried, so stay away. Same with French Fries

Your digestive system has a harder time with fried and fatty foods so they stay in your stomach longer and can cause more trouble. The longer a food stays in the stomach, the greater cause for gerd. Your digestive system will probably complain about working overtime. This is obvious when you think about it.|Ever stop to think about it? I'm sure you know what I'm saying.

You can still go to your favorite buffet restaurant, if you pay attention to what you do. You be in charge of what and how much you eat, not your appetite, and you will tame that heartburn.

Control is not the whole cure. Heartburn will still be your companion. But being smart about quantity and avoiding the fried foods will be a good first step. It will give you somewhat less heartburn until you have learned how to cure it.
