Five Food Items That Cause Gout

By Glenn Atkins

One of the largest reasons for getting gout is eating a diet rich in purines. This is as purines turn into uric acid which can amass in your joints leading to painful attacks. One of the finest ways to prevent this illness is to eat correctly. The following is a list of five popular foodstuffs that cause gout :

1. Bacon. This well-liked breakfast food can lead to excruciating problems as it is very high in purines and nitrates. Not to mention the sodium can dry you which increases your possibility of having a flare up.

2. Hot dogs. Hot dogs; whether turkey, chicken, or meat can be particularly damaging to your treatment efforts. All 3 of these meat are at least tolerably high in purines. Hot dogs also contain organ parts. Here's where the loftiest levels exist.

3. Game Foods. Wild game foods such as venison, pheasant, squirrel, and grouse also should be evaded due to their high amount. While you would think that these animals would not cause us havoc, particularly since they are not steroid filled as some meat products are, sadly, they have a tendency to have reasonably extreme levels. In reality the most grim and longest enduring case of gout I ever had was due to eating venison each day for 1 or 2 days for an adjustment of pace since I was ignorant it wasn't good for my status at the time I ate it. My attack lasted a month.

4. Chickens. As mentioned earlier, turkey and chicken are thought to have tolerably high amount. They also are person dependent. I know of people who can't eat chicken at all, whereas, it is my staple meat and I don't recall ever having had an attack because I ate chicken, however I've had an attack after eating turkey. So again, eat sparsely if you're uncertain if chicken or any of these foods will lead you to have an attack.

5. Certain Seafood. Certain fish and shellfish aren't good at all for you if you are at the mercy of gout. Salmon has high levels as does shrimp and crab. Actually salmon has twice the levels as chicken. It is a shame salmon is not good for gout patients, as this otherwise glorious food has healthy batches of omega 3 oils that definitely help in treating gout. I suggest you use additions instead.
